The Gateway Modernization Project is an effort undertaken by the State of Ohio to transform the current Gateway into a more user-friendly, reliable and secure portal that provides Ohio businesses with online access to business-related services provided by the State.
The Gateway Modernization Project is transforming the Ohio Business Gateway to make the experience simpler and more streamlined for our users.

As you will see in the video above, we are focused on translating every change and upgrade we make to the Gateway into a positive impact for our users.

Phase I of the Gateway Modernization Project, which began in September 2016, is focused on designing and building an improved user experience and simplifying transaction flows in the Gateway.

February2017 kicked off the start of Phase II of the project where a more reliable, flexible and secure system architecture is being designed and implemented to improve the overall performance of the Gateway.

Phase I and Phase II of the Modernization Project have target go-live dates of Fall 2017 and Spring 2018 respectively.

Project Progress

As you can see in the graphic above, we have completed the Design & Build portion of Phase Iof the Modernization Project where we streamlined transactions flows andcompletely redesigned the look and feel of the Gateway. We also added some new, as well as enhanced some old, functionality inthe modernized Gateway, including:

  • An online help and case management system
  • Pre-population of previously entered transaction information
  • More secure identity management protocols
We also have started the Testing portion of the Modernization Project, where we will begin verifying that the new Gateway operates as defined and that the system processes are effective and reproducible in the normal operating environment.
Be on the lookout for additional information regarding help information, tutorials and other resources for the modernized Gateway next month in The Gateway Gazette.
